Stochastic quantization at nonzero chemical potential
Lattice QCD at finite chemical potential is difficult due to the sign problem. We use stochastic quantization and complex Langevin dynamics to study this issue. First results for QCD in the hopping expansion are encouraging. U(1) and SU(3) one link models are used to gain further insight into why the method appears to be successful.

After a few remarks about the problem of extracting transport coefficients from lattice QCD calculations, I report on recent developments in applying stochastic quantization and complex Langevin dynamics to field theories with a complex action due to a nonzero chemical potential. First results demonstrate that the sign problem poses no obstacle for this approach, even in the thermodynamic limit...
متن کاملCan stochastic quantization evade the sign problem? The relativistic bose gas at finite chemical potential.
A nonperturbative study of field theories with a complex action, such as QCD at finite baryon density, is difficult due to the sign problem. We show that the relativistic Bose gas at finite chemical potential has a sign and "silver blaze" problem, similar to QCD. We then apply stochastic quantization and complex Langevin dynamics to study this theory with nonperturbative lattice simulations. In...
متن کاملDynamical reweighting: improved estimates of dynamical properties from simulations at multiple temperatures.
Dynamical averages based on functionals of dynamical trajectories, such as time-correlation functions, play an important role in determining kinetic or transport properties of matter. At temperatures of interest, the expectations of these quantities are often dominated by contributions from rare events, making the precise calculation of these quantities by molecular dynamics simulation difficul...
متن کاملThe QCD equation of state at finite T / μ on the lattice
We present Nt = 4 lattice results for the equation of state of 2 + 1 flavour staggered, dynamical QCD at finite temperature and chemical potential. We use the overlap improving multi-parameter reweighting technique to extend the equation of state for non-vanishing chemical potentials. The results are obtained along the line of constant physics. Our physical parameters extend in temperature and ...
